About me

I’ve spent the last 15 years inside the engine room of the web — not the shiny frontend, but the backend architecture that makes large digital platforms actually work at scale. My tool of choice has always been Drupal, not because it was trendy, but because it’s where real enterprise complexity lives.

My path started in 2011, writing custom modules in Córdoba, Argentina. From there I moved through agencies, enterprise consultancies, and startups — building platforms for media companies, healthcare systems, government portals, and Fortune 500 clients. I spent four years at Lullabot working on high-traffic platforms like NBC Universal and MTV. I’ve led teams of 15+ developers, architected multi-site ecosystems of 100+ websites, and built federated search platforms handling millions of queries.

In 2016 I founded heydru! — a Drupal-focused consultancy that works with US and Latin American enterprises on backend architecture, migrations, and platform strategy. I’m not interested in building fast and breaking things. I’m interested in platforms that still work cleanly five years later.

The project I’m most excited about right now is Drupal AI — the first structured system of AI skills, agents, and rules built specifically for Drupal development teams. Not another chatbot. A real engineering layer: 30+ modular skills, 9 specialized agents, 8 rule files, all version-controlled and testable. It started from a frustration — AI tools were giving developers generic code that broke Drupal conventions. Drupal AI gives teams a way to encode real architectural knowledge and make it reusable.

I also wrote the #1 Drupal 10 site building book, taught PHP and web engineering at two universities in Lima, and have spoken at DrupalCon and community events across Latin America. In 2017 an emergency response app I built in 6 hours for Peruvian firefighters won AngelHack and aired on national television. In 2022 a live interactive dance platform I co-founded was recognized by Meta across LATAM.

Outside of code, I’m a dancer. Theater. Live performance. The discipline of showing up and performing under pressure — that crosses over into engineering more than people expect.
