In this video, I share how I successfully migrated a full CMS into Drupal with a junior team under a tight budget and deadline, all while ensuring no downtime for active content editors. I created a proof of concept that exposed a single endpoint for the site structure, allowing us to process content efficiently using Drash commands instead of the more complex Drupal Migration API. I also empowered the junior developers by providing them with a UML class diagram, documentation, and live training sessions, which made the migration sustainable. The project was completed successfully, and the client was extremely happy, even leaving a positive recommendation on my LinkedIn. Un junior sí puede hablar con un cliente senior… pero solo si hizo su tarea. En este video comparto una experiencia real al visitar un proyecto de lotes al sur de Lima. A pesar de haber agendado una reunión y haber enviado previamente preguntas técnicas claras (monofásico o trifásico, voltaje, pozo a tierra, infraestructura), el proceso careció de preparación y contexto. Esa experiencia me recordó un principio clave: La confianza es arquitectura. En entornos enterprise ocurre exactamente lo mismo. Si entras a una reunión sin entender el sistema, sin conocer al cliente y sin preparar el contexto, la confianza se pierde en los primeros minutos. El precio es consecuencia. Le recomendé ser proactivo y crear una constancia simple de su trabajo, que incluya horas trabajadas y una firma del gerente. Es fundamental que los practicantes reconozcan su esfuerzo, incluso en situaciones difíciles.
